Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil. Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system. Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. |
- Remove the cap from the hydraulic tank. Install Tooling (A) onto the hydraulic tank. Attach an air supply hose to Tooling (A). Apply
276 to 414 kPa (40 to 60 psi) of air. This procedure will pull vacuum on the hydraulic system.Show/hide tableIllustration 2 g02141286 - Disconnect hose assembly (3) and reposition hose assembly (3).
- Disconnect fitting assembly (1). Disconnect hose assemblies (4) from swivel (2).

- Use Tooling (C) in order to support and remove guards (11) and (12). The weight of each guard (11) and guard (12) is approximately
23 kg (50 lb) . Remove bolts (10), guard (11), and guard (12).Show/hide tableIllustration 5 g02141288 Show/hide tableIllustration 6 g02141291 - Disconnect hose assemblies (13) and remove fittings (14).
- Disconnect fitting (17) and hose assemblies (16) from swivel (2).
- Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to swivel (2). The weight of swivel (2) is approximately
45 kg (95 lb) . Remove bolts (15) and swivel (2).

- Install swivel (2) in the reverse order of removal.
- Apply Tooling (D) to the mating surface of swivel (2) and the cover of the undercarriage frame.
- Apply Tooling (E) to the threads of bolts (15).
- Tighten clamp (9) to a torque of
5 ± 1 N·m (44 ± 9 lb in) . - Apply Tooling (E) to the threads of bolts (8). Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of
37 ± 4 N·m (27 ± 3 lb ft) .
