315C Excavator Machine Systems Bucket Linkage Bearings and Seals - Remove Caterpillar

Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the bucket control linkage. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bucket Linkage - Remove".

1. Remove lip seals (1) from link assembly (2) .

2. Remove bearings (3) from the open end of the link assembly with Tooling (A). Fasten Tooling (A) to the link assembly, as shown. Fasten a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A) for support. Remove the bearing (3). Remove bearing (3) on the other side of the link assembly in the same manner.

3. Remove the bearings from the closed end of the link assembly with a chisel or by cutting.

4. Remove lip seals (4) from the stick at the pin joint for the bucket control linkage.

5. Use Tooling (A) to remove the bearings from the stick at the pin joint for the bucket control linkage. Fasten Tooling (A) to the bearing, as shown. Fasten a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A) for support. Remove the bearing. Remove the bearing on the opposite side of the stick in the same manner.
