It is necessary to check the operation of the governor actuator when any of the following components are replaced:
- The governor actuator
- The proportional reducing valve
- The speed sensor
- The ECM

- Ensure that all electrical connectors are installed correctly.
- Start the engine.
- Move backup switch (12) to the MANUAL position.

- Move the backup switch (13) to the tortoise position.
- Move the backup switch (13) to the rabbit position.
The governor actuator operates properly if the engine speed changes. The governor actuator operates properly if the wire feed length of the acceleration cable (2) changes.
The governor actuator operates correctly if the calibration of the governor actuator is finished normally. If calibration of the governor actuator is abnormal, the governor actuator is not necessarily at fault. If the acceleration cable (2) is not properly adjusted, or if the deceleration cable (6) is not properly adjusted, improper calibration may result. The use of inferior fuel may result in improper calibration. Therefore, even though calibration of the governor actuator is completed normally, the engine speed may be abnormal.
