Availability

Initial availability was limited to "Emergency/Warranty Order" situations. All part numbers listed in the attachments are currently available through normal distribution channels. "Seed with new" is manually controlled for these components and evaluated based on core availability and market needs.

Core Return Time Limits

5110B, 5130, and 5230 swing, pump, and final drives are considered "Major Components" and included in core return program announced in IRM REM97-26, December 1997 (PELE0584). A time limit has been placed on core returns for "major components". The time limits are: 180 days for NACD, 240 days for CAPL, CCL and the CIS, and 210 days for all other areas.

Cores for which the dealer has an entitlement will be "attritioned" if the core is not returned within the time limits mentioned above. This will cause the dealer to forfeit the core deposit paid at the time the REMAN major component was purchased. Any cores returned in excess of entitlements will earn only direct purchase price. Direct purchase prices are significantly lower than core deposits and are in affect only when cores are needed. Immediate core returns are critical. AVSpare recommends that Dealers order REMAN major components only when they have a qualifying core to return within the core return time limits. If a major component is required for the initial seed of safety stocks or dealer exchange inventory, it is recommended that a new component be ordered. Contact your AVSpare District Parts representative for exchange stocking options.

Warranty

All AVSpare Remanufactured products are covered by the standard AVSpare parts warranty. See the AVSpare Warranty Statement for your area.

5110B, 5130, and 5230 SWING DRIVE

REMAN APPLIAVSION

One Time Only (OTO) Upgrade Charge - 134-2493 (Version 2) Swing Drives

As of this printing, there have been three generations of Swing Drive components for the 5130 and 5230 Front shovels/Mass excavators. The 5110B uses the latest generation of swing drive. Version 1 is the 6I7233 swing drive. This part number will not be accepted as a core for the 0R9540. Most of these cores have been eliminated from the field through field product support programs. This version can be identified through the part number on the data plate. If the data plate is missing, the 6I7233 can be identified through the dipstick. The 6I7233 will not have a riser to support the dipstick (see Illustration #1 below). Later versions will have a riser.

Version 2 swing drive is part number 134-2493. This version can be identified through the part number on the data plate. If the data plate is not present, the version can be identified through the length of the housing. An earlier version 134-2493 will have a 384 mm (15.1") length housing. The latest Version 3, 134-3675 swing drive has a 465 mm (18.3") length housing. See Illustration #2. A 151-2124 is the part number assigned to the previous exchange offering and is a Version 3 product.

When the current design (Version 3) Swing Drive is purchased (0R9540), but an earlier (Version 2/134-2493) Swing Drive core is returned - an upgrade charge will apply. The upgrade charge is in the AVSpare parts pricing system as a 180-7988. Dealers can determine upgrade prices by referring to this part number. Version 3 is the latest design and the only Swing Drive available-either New or REMAN.

The upgrade transaction occurs only once per Swing Drive. At the next component change out, the core will match the design of the unit purchased, causing normal pricing to apply.

The upgrade charge is deducted from the core deposit when a 134- 2493 is returned. Dealers should annotate "Upgrade" in the remarks section of the "Core Credit Request" (CCR). Swing drives that require an upgrade charge and would only be eligible for damaged core refund will receive the damaged core refund, but not an upgrade charge. Swing drives that require an upgrade charge and would be eligible for full core refund will receive full core credit less the upgrade charge. In other words, dealers will not be charged both an upgrade and a damaged core credit. Where applicable, the damaged core refund will take precedence. Please see the chart below for a representation of this information. Dealers may also contact Corinth at (800) 537-2928 with any questions they may have.

Core Inspection

Core inspection is visual and requires no disassembly. A rotation check is required to receive full core credit. Dealers need to review SELD0222 (Swing Drive Core Inspection Criteria) for complete inspection information.

5130 & 5230 FINAL DRIVE

REMAN APPLIAVSION

Applicability

All previous generations of the 5130 and 5230 Front Shovel and Mass Excavators final drives are acceptable as cores for the REMAN product.

Core Acceptance Criteria

Core inspection is visual and requires no disassembly. A rotation check is required to receive full core credit. Dealers need to review SELD0221 (Core Acceptance Criteria for 5130 and 5230 LHEX) for complete inspection information.

5230 Final Drives have two parts (ring and cover) shipped with the REMAN Final Drives. Dealers must return the used parts with the core to receive full core credit. The consist of the core must be the same as the REMAN product.

Shipping Stands

The REMAN 5230 Final Drive is shipped on a returnable metal stand. Parts that are "seeded with new" are shipped to the dealer on wooden pallets. If the dealer receives a final drive on a metal stand, the core must be returned on that metal stand to avert a charge for the stand. If the dealer receives a drive on a wooden pallet, make note on the CCR that the 0R9541 was received without a returnable metal stand.
