The component configuration for the travel alarm function has changed on the M300C machines. The changes are indicated by the illustrations below and are indicated in the following text.

The ECM will activate the travel alarm according to a different set of input conditions depending on the machine configuration. For machines with that are equipped with the forward and revers travel pressure switches (see illustrations for S/N's), the ECM uses the forward travel pressure switch or the reverse travel pressure switch in order to detect machine travel. The ECM will activate the travel alarm when the pressure in either pressure switch causes the switch contacts to close. When this occurs, the ECM will energize the output for the travel alarm in order to sound the travel alarm. The ECM will activate the travel alarm for a minimum of 10 seconds. If the travel alarm cancel switch on the soft switch panel (SSP) is pressed during this time period, the ECM will turn OFF the alarm after 10 seconds. If the travel alarm cancel switch on the SSP is not pressed during the first 10 second time period, the alarm will continue to sound until the travel alarm cancel switch is pressed.
If the machine is equipped with a hydraulic cab riser (HCR), the travel alarm will sound when the cab is lowering.
For machines with that are equipped with the transmission output speed sensor and the thumbwheel position sensor (see illustrations for S/N's), the functionality of the travel switch is the same as mentioned above. On these machines, the ECM monitors the transmission output speed sensor in order to detect machine movement. The ECM monitors the inputs of the medium pressure switch and the right hand joystick thumbwheel position sensor (if equipped) in order to determine when the HCR is activated.
Note: If the limp home mode is activated, the alarm will sound for a maximum of 10 seconds.
The travel alarm function can be installed or uninstalled in the Cat ET configuration screen.
