Cylinder Cycle Times

Engine Settings

High idle ... 1810 ± 20 rpm
Oil temperature ... 40° to 60°C (104° to 140°F)

Extension of Boom Cylinder

The following time is required to lift the boom from the ground level to the maximum height. On the front shovel, fully extend the stick cylinders. On the mass excavator, fully retract the stick cylinders and fully extend the bucket cylinders. Start with the bucket on the ground.

Mass Excavator ... 11.5 ± 1.0 sec
Front Shovel ... 9.3 ± 1.3 sec

Retraction of Boom Cylinder

The following time is required to lower the boom from the maximum height to the ground level. Start with the bucket at the maximum height.

Mass Excavator ... 4.9 ± 0.9 sec
Front Shovel ... 4.5 ± 0.5 sec

Extension of Stick Cylinder

The following time is required for full extension of the stick cylinders. Start with the boom up and the bucket in the curled position.

Mass Excavator ... 7.75 ± 0.75 sec
Front Shovel ... 6.75 ± 0.75 sec

Retraction of Stick Cylinder

The following time is required for the full retraction of the stick cylinders. Start with the boom up and the bucket in the curled position.

Mass Excavator ... 6.35 ± 0.85 sec
Front Shovel ... 4.75 ± 0.75 sec

Extension of Bucket Cylinder (load)

The following time is required for full extension of the bucket cylinders.

Mass Excavator ... 5.65 ± 1.15 sec
Front Shovel ... 5.75 ± 0.75 sec

Retraction of Bucket Cylinder (dump)

The following time is required for the full retraction of the bucket cylinders.

Mass Excavator ... 4.9 ± 1.1 sec
Front Shovel ... 4.25 ± 0.75 sec

Extension of Bottom Dump Cylinder (close bucket)

The following time is required for full extension of the bottom dump cylinders. ... 2.85 ± 0.65 sec

Retraction of Bottom Dump Cylinder (open bucket)

The following time is required for the full retraction of the bottom dump cylinders. ... 2.4 ± 0.6 sec

Swing

The following time is required to swing the upper structure for 3 full revolutions. Start with the upper structure in motion. ... 40 to 46 sec

Travel

The following time is required for the machine to travel 100 m (328.1 ft) from a moving start. The time is valid for travel in a forward or backward direction. ... 131 to 151 sec

Times for Implement Drift for Boom, Stick, Bucket and the Bottom Dump

Note: The following values are for the maximum allowable drift with the oil temperature at 38°C (100°F).

Boom in RAISED Position

Start with the stick and boom cylinders at full extension. The allowable drift is 60.0 mm (2.36 inch) in 5 minutes.

Stick OUT

Start with the stick cylinders in the fully extended position for the front shovel. Start with the stick cylinders in the fully retracted position for the mass excavator. The following values are the maximum allowable drift in 5 minutes.

Mass Excavator ... 60.0 mm (2.36 inch)
Front Shovel ... 40.0 mm (1.58 inch)

Bucket in CURLED Position

Start with the bucket cylinders at full extension. The following values are the maximum allowable drift in 5 minutes.

Mass Excavator and Front Shovel ... 50.0 mm (1.97 inch)

Bottom Dump in CLOSED Position

No specification is available.

Travel

The maximum drift in 100 m (328.1 ft) must not exceed 8 m (26.2 ft).

Times for Implement Drift at Other Oil Temperatures

Note: The minimum allowable time for the cylinder drift at other oil temperatures is specified in Illustration 1. The specified time is for the value of the drift which is given in "Times for Implement Drift for Boom, Stick And Bucket".
