Introduction

The problem that is identified below has a known permanent solution. Use the solution that is identified below to correct the issue.

Problem

An issue has been found with the manufacturing of the 377-6969 Engine Oil Filters that allowed residual dried paint to be transferred to the threads of the filter. If the dried paint is able to enter the lube system, damage can occur to the bearings effecting the entire engine.

Solution

New filters are currently being produced with a 100% inspection rate to ensure that none of the new filters have any residual dried paint.

Until the new filters are available, inspect the filter threads and the center tube of the filter prior to using. Ensure that there is no debris in the filter.
