Introduction
This Special Instruction provides a troubleshooting guide for the 122-9897 Implement Electronic Control Module . This auxiliary controller may be installed on the machines that are listed.
The 122-9897 Implement Electronic Control Module is experiencing difficult diagnostic results. Many controllers are returned to the factory as failed components. Investigations by factory personnel have determined that many of the controllers that are returned to the factory are still viable. This troubleshooting guide will help dealer personnel for accurately diagnosing questionable controllers. The troubleshooting process will reduce the number of returned parts.

View of auxiliary hydraulic controller |
The auxiliary hydraulic controller controls the engine speed and operating flow of the main hydraulic pumps. The controller recognizes some abnormal operating conditions. The controller provides error codes in order to monitor the operating conditions. The controller also logs the use of each auxiliary working mode on an hourly basis.

The display window for the auxiliary controller is identified above. These segments of the LED are referenced in the flow chart for the troubleshooting procedure.
When the Hours of working mode (H) is selected, the hours will be displayed in the last four digital positions (C) and (D). When the Engine RPM (E) is selected, the engine speed setting is shown in digital display (C). When the Pump flow (F) is selected, the operating flow is shown in digital display (C). The reading is a percentage of maximum pump flow.
The Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR1020 must be used for a reference in order to supplement the investigation of suspect auxiliary hydraulic controllers for reusable parts.

There are different ways for checking the wiring.
- Verify the resistance of the engine speed dial. Each contact must be lower than 50 Ohms when the engine speed dial is in the ON position. Each contact must be greater than 5000 Ohms when the engine speed dial is in the OFF position.
- Insert a shunt across the following connectors: A755-PK, A756-PU, A757-WH and A758-BR. the connectors are located under the platform.
Note: See the electrical schematic in the Service Manual.
- Insert a shunt directly across "Din" to "Dout".
- A755-PK Pin 3 to K973-BR Pin 4 on the mating Auxiliary Control
- A756-PU Pin 9 to K974-PU Pin 10 on the mating Auxiliary Control
- A757-WH Pin 15 to K975-WH Pin 16 on the mating Auxiliary Control
- A758-BR Pin 21 to K976-OR Pin 22 on the mating Auxiliary Control
- A755-PK Pin 3 to K973-BR Pin 4 on the mating Auxiliary Control
