Introduction
This special instruction provides the basic steps for installing the 189-8642 Water Spray Kit (Dust Control) on the PC6 and PC9 Cold Planer.
Cold Planers are work tools for Skid Steer Loaders that are used to mill paved surfaces. The water spray kit is designed to reduce the amount of dust that is created during the operation of the cold planer.
The information in this instruction should be read and understood before you begin installation of the water spray kit.
Required Parts
The required parts for the installation of the 189-8642 Water Spray Kit (Dust Control) are identified in Table 1 and Table 2.

- Drill six holes that are 17.5 mm (0.7 inch) in diameter. See Illustration 3 and Table 4 for the locations.
- Place the hose assembly (N) so that the threaded ends of the six connectors are extended through the six drilled holes.
- Access the threaded end of the connectors through the inspection door that is located on the top of the cold planer.
- Install a nozzle (7) in each of the six connectors from the inside of the cold planer. Install retainers (6) in order to secure nozzles (7) in the connectors.
Note: The installation of retainers (6) will also secure the connectors to the cold planer.
- Install hose assembly (E) to hose assembly (N). The threaded end of hose connector (1) on hose assembly (E ) is connected to tee (4), which is the middle connector on hose assembly (N) .

- Attach the quick connect coupler (3) on hose assembly (E) to the connector on the lift arm.
- Adjust the nozzles for the correct spray pattern. Adjust the nozzles that are installed in the elbow connectors so that the spray is parallel to the side plates. Adjust the nozzles that are installed in the tee connectors so that the spray is perpendicular to the side plate.
Note: After you adjust the nozzles, apply pipe sealant (10) on the threaded ends of the connectors before you reinstall the retainers (6) .
