The 6C197 Hammer Installation Arrangement is a field conversion to the above excavators for installation of the controls and hydraulic lines necessary for operation of a Montabert hydraulic hammer. The 6C198 Hammer Installation Arrangement is a field conversion to the above excavators for installation of the controls and hydraulic lines necessary for operation of a Krupp hydraulic hammer. Hydraulic oil under pressures that can be higher than 41,500 kPa (6000 psi) can remain in the hydraulic systems of this machine after the engine and pumps have stopped. Serious injury or death can result if this pressure is not released before performing any service work on the hydraulic systems. Do not start installation of the hydraulic hammer installation arrangements until the procedure "RELEASE OF PRESSURE IN THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM" on page 3 has been performed. |

Release Of Pressure In The Hydraulic System
(1) Release the pressure in the implement hydraulic circuits (boom, stick and bucket) before disconnecting or removing any hydraulic lines or components using the following procedure.
(2) Fully retract the rod into the stick cylinder. Adjust the position of the bucket so it will be flat on the ground when the boom is lowered. Lower the boom until the bucket is flat on the ground.
(3) Shut off the engine and put the lever for the safety valve in the SAFE position. Move the control levers for the boom, bucket, stick and swing in all directions. This will relieve any pressure that might be present in the pilot system.

At operating temperature, hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause personal injury. Remove the cap from the hydraulic tank only when the cap is cool enough to touch with your hand. |

(4) Slowly loosen the filler cap on the hydraulic tank, and release the pressure. Tighten the cap. Release the oil pressure in the bucket and stick hydraulic circuits as follows:
a) Slowly open screw (1) one half turn until all oil pressure is released. Tighten screw (1).
b) Slowly open screw (2) one half turn until all oil pressure is released. Tighten screw (2).
c) Slowly open screw (3) one half turn until all oil pressure is released. Tighten screw (3).
d) Slowly open screw (4) one half turn until all oil pressure is released. Tighten screw (4).
(5) Release the oil pressure in the boom hydraulic circuit as follows:
a) Slowly open screw (5), on the right boom cylinder, one half turn until all oil pressure is released. Tighten screw (5).
b) Slowly open screw (6), on the right boom cylinder, one half turn until all oil pressure is released. Tighten screw (6).
Installation Of Hydraulic Hammer Control Group
(A) Pressure Lines
(1) Disconnect batteries. Remove engine hoods and open engine side panels. Remove boom crossover line (1). Keep flanges, bolts and washers for future use. Remove pump signal hose (2). Remove elbow (4) from summing valve (3). Remove the seal and plug from the opposite side of valve (3), and install in place of elbow (4). Remove tee (6), elbow (7) and hose (8) from piston pump (5). Do not remove elbow (9).
(2) Remove shipping plugs (11) from new 5C9971 Selector Valve Group (12). Remove the bolts, nuts, shipping covers (13), (14) and (15) and the gaskets from valve group (12). Keep bolts (16) for installation of the valve group. Install 1P3704 Seal (17) in the valve group. Install 3J1907 Seals and 307947 Elbows (18) in the valve group as shown.
(3) Install valve group (12) on the rear main control valve with four 5P1893 Bolts [including two bolts (16) from shipping cover]. Use the original mounting hardware and two 1P3703 Seals to install new 5C9799 Hose (19) between selector valve (12) and the front main control valve.
(4) Disconnect hose (20) from housing (21). Remove elbow (22). Remove housing (21). Remove tubes (23) and (24). Disconnect hose (25), and remove tee (26) from the rear main control valve. Keep elbow (22); the remainder of these parts will not be used again.
(5) Install 3J1907 Seal and 9S8004 Plug (27) in new 5C9757 Housing (28). Install 4B9880 Ball (29) and 8J4486 Stem (30) in the housing. Install 3J1907 Seal and 307955 Tee (31). Install 9F2167 Screw (32). Install original elbow (22) and seal in new housing (28) as shown.
(6) Install a 5J1808 Seal and 5C9757 Housing (28) on the rear main control valve with four 5B9603 Bolts (33). Install new 5C9747 Tube (34) between selector valve (12) and tee (31) on housing (28). Connect hose (20) to elbow (22) on housing (28). Install a 3J1907 Seal and 307955 Tee (35). Install 5C9797 Tube (36) between tee (35) and selector valve (12). Fasten tube (36) to rear main control valve with 7N3281 Clip (37) and an existing bolt for tube (38). Install a 3J1907 Seal and 6M6853 Tee (39). Connect hose (25) to tee (39). Install new 9V7581 Tube (40) between shuttle valve (41) and tee (39) as shown. Install new 5C4197 Tube (42) between the pilot manifold and tee (35) on the rear main control valve.
(7) On earlier machines, weld 5C9796 Block (43) to angle (44) at the location shown with a 5 mm (.20") fillet weld along sides (A) of the block.
(8) For 6C197 Installation Arrangements only (Montabert),install two 3D2824 Seals and two 9S4184 Plugs (45) in 5C9977 Manifold (46). Install 3J1907 Seal and 9S4191 Plug (47). Install 7M8485 Seal and 9S9334 Plug (48) in manifold (46).
(9) For 6C198 Installation Arrangements only (Krupp), install 4T9296 Valve Group (49) in 5C9977 Manifold (46). Install a 3D2824 Seal and 307950 Elbow (50) as shown. Install a 3J1907 Seal and 9S4191 Plug (47). Install a 3D2824 Seal and 9S4184 Plug in the remaining port of manifold (46).
(10) For both arrangements, install 1P3704 Seal, manifold assembly (46), 1P3704 Seal, and 5C9726 Tube Assembly (51) on selector valve (12) with four 5B5059 Bolts. Fasten tube assembly (51) to the block on angle (44) with 5C9800 Bracket (52), two 5P8244 Washers, two T318 Bolts, two 5P8245 Washers and two 2H3855 Bolts (53). Fasten tube assembly (51) to the existing tubes with 5M2894 Washers, S1588 Bolts, 8F8398 Clamps and 1D4717 Nuts at locations (B) and (C).
(11) Weld 5C9939 Block (54) to plate (D) of front support assembly (55) at the location shown with a 5 mm (.20") fillet weld all around.
(12) Fasten 5C9754 Adapter (56) to block (54) with two 3B8428 Bolts. Install 2S4078 Seal and 6M5652 Elbow (57) in adapter (56). Remove the plug from the top of manifold (58) and install 2S4078 Seal and 6M5652 Elbow (59). Install 5C9752 Hose Assembly (60) between the two elbows as shown.
(13) For 6C198 Installation Arrangements only (Krupp), remove the plug from the top of the rear main control valve, and install 4K1388 Seal and 8K2377 Elbow (61) as shown. Install 6A7864 Hose Assembly (62) between elbow (61) and elbow (50) on the manifold.
(14) For both installation arrangements, remove clamps (64) and bracket (65). Keep the clamps and mounting hardware; bracket (65) will not be used again. Remove 5C3422 Tube Assembly (66) and 5C3419 Tube Assembly (67). Keep all mounting hardware; tubes (66) and (67) will not be used again.
(15) Put 5C9938 Hose Assembly (68) in position under support assembly (55). Fasten hose assembly (68) to tube assembly (51) with a 1P3704 Seal, 1P5767 Flanges, four 5P8245 Washers, two 2B947 Bolts (69) and two S1587 Bolts (70). Put 5C9755 Hose Assembly (71) in position under support assembly (55). Fasten hose assembly (71) to adapter (56) with a 4J522 Seal, two 1P4578 Flanges, four 5P8244 Washers and four 3H5368 Bolts.
(16) Fasten new 5C9727 Tube Assembly (72) to boom check and relief valve (73) with original mounting hardware [1P3705 Seal and four 2B947 Bolts]. Fasten new 5C9728 Tube Assembly (74) to tube assembly (72) with the original mounting hardware [1P3704 Seal, two 1P5761 Flanges, four 5P8244 Washers and four T319 Bolts]. Fasten tube assembly (74) to manifold (75) with the original mounting hardware [1P3704 Seal and four T319 Bolts]. Install new 5C5660 Bracket (76) on the frame with the original mounting hardware [two 5P8244 Washers, two 4B4279 Washers and two 3H5368 Bolts]. Fasten tube assembly (72) to bracket (76) with the original mounting hardware [two 8K4691 Clamps, two 5P8244 Washers, two 4B4279 Washers, two 3H5368 Bolts and two 1D4718 Nuts].
(B) Pilot Lines And Valves
(1) Install 3J1907 Seals and 2R6806 Connectors (1) and (2) in 5C9762 Manifold (3). Install 3J1907 Seal and 1U423 Check Valve (4) with arrow toward manifold (3). Install 3J1907 Seal and 307947 Elbow (5) as shown. Install 3J1907 Seals and 2R6806 Connectors (6) and (7) in 8J6875 Valve Assembly (8). Install 619258 Tee (9) as shown. Install 3J1907 Seal, 2R6806 Connector (10) and 6K9194 Elbow (11) in valve assembly (8) as shown. Install 3J1907 Seal and 2R6806 Connector (12) in 8J6875 Valve Assembly (13). Install 3J1907 Seal and 307947 Elbow (14). Install 3J1907 Seal, 6M6853 Tee (15) and 6K9194 Elbow (16) as shown.
(2) For 6C197 Installation Arrangements only (Montabert), install 3J1907 Seals and 307947 Elbows (17) and (18) in 1U1100 Valve Group (19). Install 3J1907 Seal, 2R6806 Connector (20) and 619258 Tee (21) in valve group (19). Install 3J1907 Seals and 307947 Elbows (22) and (23) in 3G6448 Valve Group (24). Install 3J1907 Seal and 307955 Tee (25) as shown.
(3) For 6C192 Installation Arrangements only (Krupp), install 3J1907 Seal and 307947 Elbow (17) in 1U1100 Valve Group (19). Install 3J1907 Seal and 6M6853 Tee (26) in valve group (19). Install 3J1907 Seal, 2R6806 Connector (20) and 619258 Tee (21). Install 3J1907 Seals and 307947 Elbows (22) and (23) in 3G6448 Valve Group (24). Install 3J1907 Seal and 307955 Tee (25). Install 3J1907 Seal and 2R6806 Connector (27) in 3G6448 Valve Group (28). Install 3J1907 Seals and 307947 Elbows (29) and (30) in valve group (28).
(4) Fasten manifold (3) to 5C9759 Bracket Assembly (31) with two 1D4539 Bolts, two 5P4116 Washers and two 1D4716 Nuts as shown. Fasten valve assemblies (8) and (13) to bracket assembly (31) with two 8F8178 Bolts, two 5P4115 Washers and two 1B4330 Nuts. Install valve group (19) on the bracket assembly with two 1D4538 Bolts, two 5P4116 Washers and two 1D4716 Nuts. For 6C197 Installation Arrangements only (Montabert), fasten valve group (24) to the bracket assembly with two S1590 Bolts, two 5P1075 Washers and two 1D4717 Nuts. For 6C198 Installation Arrangements only (Krupp), install valve group (24), 5C9793 Spacer (32) and valve group (28) on the bracket assembly with two 1A5964 Bolts, two 5P1075 Washers and two 1D4717 Nuts.
(5) For both installation arrangements, install 5C9763 Tube Assembly (33), 5C9764 Tube Assembly (34), 5C9765 Tube Assembly (35), 5C9766 Tube Assembly (36), 5C9767 Tube Assembly (37), 5C9768 Tube Assembly (38) and 5C9770 Tube Assembly (39). For 6C198 Installation Arrangements only (Krupp), install 5C9798 Tube Assembly (40).
(6) For both installation arrangements, remove bolts (41) and (42) from boom check and relief valve (43). Put the pilot valves and bracket assembly in position on valve (43). Fasten bracket (31) to valve (43) with two 8F8804 Bolts (44).
(7) Remove cap (45) from the lines to speed and direction pilot control valve (46). Install new 5P3165 Tee (47) on tee (48). Install 8M744 Nut (49) and 306936 Reducer (50) on tee (47) as shown. Install cap (45) on tee (47).
(8) Install 2P1278 Bulkhead Union (51) and 2P1279 Locknut in the hole marked "22" of the platform assembly. Install 7V7354 Tube Assembly (52) between union (51) and reducer (50) on tee (47). Fasten tube assembly (52) to the platform assembly with 7H7055 Clip (53), S1619 Bolt, 3H3244 Spacer, 5P1075 Washer and 1D4717 Nut. Install 5C4321 Hose Assembly (54) between bulkhead union (51) and elbow (23) on solenoid valve (24).
(9) For 6C198 Installation Arrangements only (Krupp), remove the 9S4191 Plug and seal from tube assembly (55) and install a 3J1907 Seal and 307947 Elbow (56). Install 3V6802 Hose Assembly (57) between elbow (56) and elbow (29) on solenoid valve (28). Fasten hose assembly (57) to hose assembly (58) with two 7K1181 Straps (59).
(10) For both installation arrangements, disconnect tube assembly (60) from elbow (61) on pilot manifold (62). Remove the seal and 307947 Elbow (61) from the manifold. Install a 3J1907 Seal and 6M6853 Tee (63). Connect tube assembly (60) to tee (63). Install 5C9771 Tube Assembly (64) between tee (63) on the manifold and tee (25) on solenoid valve (24). Fasten tube assembly (64) to the support with 9S1310 Clip (65) and the existing nut.
(11) Install 3J1907 Seal and 307942 Elbow (66) on summing valve (67). Connect 5C4321 Hose Assembly (68) to elbow (66). Connect the other end of hose assembly (68) to elbow (16) on valve assembly (13). Connect 5C4321 Hose Assembly (69) to tee (70) on housing (71). Connect the other end of hose assembly (69) to tee (9) on valve assembly (8).
(12) Install 3J7354 Seal and 307946 Elbow (72) in front piston pump (73). Install 5C9773 Hose Assembly (74) between elbow (72) on the pump and elbow (14) on valve assembly (13) as shown. Install 5C9772 Hose Assembly (75) between elbow (76) on rear piston pump (77) and elbow (11) on valve assembly (8) as shown. Fasten the hose assemblies in place with the existing bolt and new 6K5967 Clip (78).
(13) For 6C198 Installation Arrangements only (Krupp), remove the two bolts that fasten angle (79) to support assembly (80). Install 5C9774 Plate (81) and two L1351 Bolts. Install 2P7215 Elbow (82) on plate (81) with a 2P1279 Locknut. Install 2V1821 Hose Assembly (83) between elbow (82) and connector (27) on solenoid valve (28). Fasten hose assembly (83) in place with existing bolt and new 1S994 Clip (84). Connect 5C9783 Hose Assembly (85) to elbow (82). Fasten hose assembly (85) to hose assembly (86) with three 7K1181 Straps (87) at locations shown.
(C) Switch Group And Wiring Harness For 6C197 Installation Arrangements (Montabert)
NOTE: In this installation procedure, the following color coding for wiring will be used: (A) White/Yellow (B) Purple/Yellow (C) Red
(1) Connect the solenoid wire to 5C9776 Wire Assembly (1). Connect wire assembly (1) to attachment connector (2) on console wiring harness (3). Connector (2) is located at the junction of the console wiring harness and the chassis wiring harness. Fasten wire assembly (1) in place with three 3S2093 Straps.
(2) Remove the four screws that fasten inlay (4) to the right console, and lift the inlay away from the console. Remove original handle (5) from the control lever. Push the two wires of 3V1963 Wire Assembly (6) up through the control lever. Install the locknut and 3V1965 Adapter (7) on the control lever. Remove the two screws and cap (8) from 2G3970 Switch Group. Remove switch (9), trigger (10) and screw (11) from the switch group. Put handle (12) in position on the control lever with the hole in adapter (7) in alignment with the screw hole in the handle. Install screw (11) and tighten locknut (13). Connect the wires of wire assembly (6) to switch (9) as shown. Put switch (9), trigger (10) and cap (8) in position and install the two screws. Fasten wire assembly (6) to connector (14) of console wiring harness (3). Install inlay (4) and the screws.
(D) Switch Group And Wiring Harness For 6C198 Installation Arrangements (Krupp)
NOTE: In this installation procedure, the following color coding for wiring will be used: (A) White/Yellow (B) Purple/Yellow (C) Red
(1) Connect the solenoid wires to 5C9776 Wire Assembly (1). Connect wire assembly (1) to attachment connector (2) on console wiring harness (3). Connector (2) is located at junction of console wiring harness and chassis wiring harness. Fasten wire assembly (1) in place with three 3S2093 Straps.
(2) Remove the seat. Remove lower panel cover (4) from the left console. Remove the four screws that fasten inlay (5) to the right console. Lift inlay (5) away from the console.
(3) Put new 6C189 Harness Assembly (6) in position between the right console and left console as shown. Fasten connector (7) of harness assembly (6) to left auxiliary control switch connector (8) of console wiring harness (3).
(4) Remove original handle (9) from the control lever. Push the two wires of 3V1963 Wire Assembly (10) up through the control lever. Install the locknut and 3V1965 Adapter (11) on the control lever. Remove the two screws and cap (12) from 2G3970 Switch Group. Remove switch (13), trigger (14) and screw (15) from the switch group. Put handle (16) in position on the control lever with the hole in adapter (11) in alignment with screw hole in handle. Install screw (15) and tighten locknut (17). Connect the wires of wire assembly (10) to switch (13) as shown. Put switch (13), trigger (14) and cap (12) in position and install the two screws.
(5) Remove the plug from inlay (5) and install 6C196 Switch Group (18) with yellow wire toward front of machine. Fasten connector (19) of the switch group to connector (20) of harness assembly (6). Fasten connector (21) of harness assembly (6) to wire assembly (10). Fasten connector (22) of harness assembly (6) to connector (23) of console wiring harness (3). Install inlay (5) and the screws. Install 6C260 Film (24) next to switch group (18). Install left panel cover and the seat.
Installation Of Boom And Stick Lines
(1) Remove the four S1590 Bolts from the boom lines at locations (A) and (B) [two bolts from each location]. Install 5C9756 Plate (1) with two L2070 Bolts. For 6C197 Installation Arrangements only (Montabert), install 5C9746 Plate (2) with two L2070 Bolts. For 6C198 Installation Arrangements only (Krupp), install 5C9775 Plate (3), two L2070 Bolts, 2P1278 Union (4) and 2P1279 Locknut (5).
(2) Put 1P3705 Seal and 5C9732 Tube Assembly (6) in position on plate (1). Put 4J524 Seal in hose assembly (7). Connect hose assembly (7) to plate (1) and tube assembly (6) with two 1P4579 Flanges (8), four 5P8245 Washers and four 1A1460 Bolts [part of hydraulic control group]. Put 1P3704 Seal and 5C9729 Tube Assembly (9) in position on plate (2) or (3). Put 1P3704 Seal in hose assembly (10). Connect hose assembly (10) to plate (2) or (3) and to tube assembly (9) with two 1P5767 Flanges (11), four 5P8245 Washers and four 9S1366 Bolts [part of hydraulic control group]. For 6C198 Installation Arrangements only (Krupp), connect hose assembly (12) and 5C9785 Hose assembly (13) to union (4).
(3) Remove the four bolts, lockwashers and half-clamps, and install the half-clamps and 6C186 Blocks (14) and (15) with new 5P8244 Washers and 1D4556 Bolts. Fasten tube (6) to block (14) with 6C187 Spacer (16), two 8K2665 Clamps (17), two 5P8245 Washers and two 1A5822 Bolts. Fasten tube (9) to block (15) with 6C187 Spacer (18), two 8K4691 Clamps (19), two 5P8245 Washers and two 1A5822 Bolts. Fasten tube assembly (9) in place with 5C9758 Clamps (20), T772 Bolts, 5P8244 Washers and 3S1546 Nuts. Fasten tube assembly (9) in place with 5C9749 Clamps (21), T772 Bolts, 5P8244 Washers and 3S1546 Nuts. On 6C198 Installation Arrangements only (Krupp), fasten hose assembly (13) to tube assembly (9) with six 7K1181 Straps (22).
(4) Remove the bolts, lockwashers and half-clamps, and install the half-clamps and six 6C186 Blocks (23), (24), (25), (26), (27) and (28) with new 5P8244 Washers and 1D4556 Bolts. Install 1P3705 Seal and 5C9733 Tube Assembly (29) on tube assembly (6) with two 1P5762 Flanges, four 5P8245 Washers and four 2B947 Bolts. Fasten tube assembly (29) in place with two 8K2665 Clamps, two 5P8245 Washers and two S1595 Bolts at locations (C) and (D). At location (E), fasten tube assembly (29) in place with 6C187 Spacer (30), two 8K2665 Clamps, two 5P8245 Washers and two 1A5822 Bolts.
(5) Install 1P3704 Seal and 5C9730 Tube Assembly (31) on tube assembly (9) with two 1P5761 Flanges, four 5P8244 Washers and four T319 Bolts. Fasten tube assembly (31) in place with two 8K4691 Clamps, two 5P8245 Washers and two S1595 Bolts at locations (F) and (G). At location (H), fasten tube assembly (31) in place with 6C187 Spacer (32), two 8K4691 Clamps, two 5P8245 Washers and two 1A5822 Bolts. For 6C198 Installation Arrangements only (Krupp), fasten hose assembly (13) to tube assembly (31) with seven 7K1181 Straps (33).
(6) For 6C197 Installation Arrangements only (Montabert), temporarily install 5C9753 Block (34), 5C9769 Adapter (35), 5C9735 Block (36), 3V9744 Spacer (37) and 8K2665 Clamps (38) on 5C9734 Tube Assembly (39). For 6C198 Installation Arrangements only (Krupp), temporarily install 5C9753 Block (34), 5C9750 Adapter (35), 5C9735 Block (36), 3V9744 Spacer (37) and 8K2665 Clamps (38) on 5C9734 Tube Assembly (39). For both installation arrangements, temporarily install 5C9753 Block (40), 5C9750 Adapter (41), 5C9735 Block (42), 3V9744 Spacer (43) and 8K4691 Clamps (44) on 5C9731 Tube Assembly (45). Put the tube assemblies in place on the stick in the positions shown. Tack weld blocks (34), (36), (40) and (42) to the stick. Remove the tube assemblies, adapters, spacers and clamps.
(7) Weld blocks (34) and (40) to the stick with 6 mm (.25") fillet welds along edges (J). Extend the welds 20 mm (.75") past the four corners of each block, gradually decreasing weld bead to 3 mm (.12"). Do not weld along edges (K) of blocks (34) and (40).
(8) Weld blocks (36) and (42) to the stick with 6 mm (.25") bevel groove welds along edges (L). Extend the welds 20 mm (.75") past the four corners of each block, gradually decreasing weld bead to 3 mm (.12"). Do not weld along edges (M) of blocks (36) and (42).
(9) Install adapters (35) and (41) with 4F7226 Bolts. Install 5M6213 Plugs (46) in the adapters. Install tube assembly (39) on adapter (35) with a 1P3705 Seal and 2B947 Bolts. Fasten tube assembly (39) to block (36) with spacer (37), 8K2665 Clamps, 5P8245 Washers and 1A5822 Bolts. Connect 5C9751 Hose Assembly (47) to tube assembly (39) with a 4J522 Seal, 1P4578 Flanges, 5P8244 Washers and 3H5368 Bolts. Connect hose assembly (47) to tube assembly (29) with a 4J524 Seal, 1P4579 Flanges, 5P8245 Washers and 1A1460 Bolts.
(10) For 6C197 Installation Arrangements only (Montabert), fasten tube assembly (45) to adapter (41) with a 1P3705 Seal and 2B947 Bolts. Fasten tube assembly (45) to block (42) with spacer (43), 8K4691 Clamps, 5P8245 Washers and 1A5822 Bolts. Connect 5C9745 Hose Assembly (48) to tube assemblies (45) and (31) with 1P3704 Seals, 1P5767 Flanges, 5P8245 Washers and 2B947 Bolts.
(11) For 6C198 Installation Arrangements only (Krupp), fasten tube assembly (45) to adapter (41) with a 1P3705 Seal, 5C9784 Plate (49), two 9S1366 Bolts and two 2B947 Bolts. Fasten tube assembly (45) to block (42) with spacer (43), 8K4691 Clamps, 5C9786 Angle (50), 5P8245 Washers and 1A5822 Bolts. Connect 5C9745 Hose Assembly (51) to tube assembly (45) with a 1P3704 Seal, 1P5767 Flanges, 5P8245 Washers and 2B947 Bolts. Connect hose assembly (51) to tube assembly (31) with a 1P3704 Seal, 1P5767 Flanges, 5P8245 Washers and 1A1460 Bolts.
(12) For 6C198 Installation Arrangements only (Krupp), install 5C9784 Plate (52) on tube assembly (31) with two S1620 Bolts. Install 2P1278 Union (53) and 2P1279 Locknut (54) on plate (52). Connect hose assembly (13) to union (53). Install 2P7215 Elbow (55) and 2P1279 Locknut (56) on angle (50). Install 5P4653 Connector (57) and 2P1279 Locknut (58) on plate (49). Install 5C9794 Hose Assembly (59) between elbow (55) and connector (57) as shown. Fasten hose assembly (59) to tube assembly (45) with three 7K1181 Straps (60). Install 2V8299 Hose Assembly (61) between elbow (55) and union (53) as shown.
Final Installation Steps
(1) Install the hydraulic hammer on the excavator using the manufacturer's installation instructions. After installation of the hammer, start the engine and check operation of the controls. Check all hydraulic connections for leaks. Shut off the engine and check the oil level of the hydraulic tank as shown in the MAINTENANCE instructions. Add oil as necessary. Install all guards and covers that have been removed.
(2) If the hydraulic hammer is not being installed at this time, use the following procedures. For 6C197 Installation Arrangements (Montabert), install 5H4019 Cover (1) with 4J520 Seal, 1P4577 Flanges, 5M2894 Washers and 4J5907 Bolts. On the other side, install a 5H4020 Cover with 4J522 Seal, 1P4578 Flanges, 5P8244 Washers and 3H5368 Bolts. For 6C198 Installation Arrangements (Krupp), install 5H4019 Covers (1) with 4J520 Seals, 1P4577 Flanges, 5M2894 Washers and 4J5907 Bolts. Install 5M6213 Plug (2).
