Multipurpose Bucket Operation

Bucket Loading

    Illustration 1g00104393

  1. Open the bowl by pulling the auxiliary control lever backward.

  2. Position the bucket over the material that will be loaded.

  3. Lower the bucket into the material.

  4. Close the bowl by pushing the auxiliary control lever forward.

    Illustration 2g00104391

  5. The multipurpose bucket can be used when increased dump height is desired or when you are unloading sticky material. Position the bucket over the dump area and open the bowl by pulling the auxiliary control lever backward.

With the bucket in the Closed, the bucket can be loaded in the same manner as a standard bucket. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operating Techniques" section for the host machine for more information.

Dozing

    Illustration 3g00104392

  1. To use the bucket for dozing, open the bowl by pulling the auxiliary control lever backward.

  2. Maintain a level cut.

Scraping

    Illustration 4g00104392

  1. To use the bucket for scraping, raise the bowl slightly by pulling the auxiliary control lever backward.

  2. Position the bucket as if the bucket is used for dozing.

  3. Drive the host machine forward and scrape the desired area.

  4. When the bucket is loaded, tilt back the bucket and close the bowl by pushing the auxiliary control lever forward.

  5. Dump the bucket when you are finished scraping.

Side Dump Bucket Operation

Illustration 5g00371232

  1. Position the loader in order to dump the load into the hauling unit body. Load the material into the hauling unit body from the front to the rear.

  2. Fully raise the bucket in order to dump the load safely into the hauling unit.

  3. Push the auxiliary control lever forward in order to dump the bucket.

  4. Shake the bucket in order to loosen sticky material. Move the auxiliary control back and forth in quick motions.

  5. When you are finished dumping, pull the auxiliary control lever backward. This will return the bucket to the normal position.

  6. Before you lower the bucket, make sure that the hauling unit is not under the bucket.

  7. Lower the bucket while you position the loader for the next load.

Top Clamp Bucket Operation

    Illustration 6g00664749

  1. Lower the bucket level to the ground.

  2. Open the top clamps by pulling the auxiliary control lever backward.

  3. Drive the host machine forward into the material that is being loaded.

  4. When the bucket is loaded, close the top clamps by pushing the auxiliary control lever forward.

  5. In order to unload the bucket, open the top clamps by pulling the auxiliary control lever backward. Tilt the bucket forward in order to dump the material out of the bucket.

High Dump Bucket Operation

Dump Operation

RAISE - Move the auxiliary control lever to the "Raise" position. The bucket will move from the cradle to the dump position.

LOWER - Move the auxiliary control lever to the "Lower" position.

Bucket Loading

When the bucket is in the cradle position, the bucket can be loaded in the same manner as a standard bucket.

Note: High dump buckets are not designed to be used for digging.

Bucket Dumping

With the bucket in the lowered position, the bucket can be dumped in the same manner as a standard bucket.

    Illustration 7g02130308

  1. Raise the bucket cutting edge to the desired dump height.

  2. Raise the bucket from the cradle by moving the auxiliary control lever to the raise position.

Note: High dump buckets can place a load much further forward and higher on the host machine than a standard bucket. This can significantly affect the host machine's static tipping load.
