  1. Priming pump plunger (1) is located on the right rear corner of the engine above the fuel filters. Turn the priming pump plunger counterclockwise in order to unlock the plunger.

  1. Operate priming pump plunger (1) until you feel resistance. This indicates that the fuel filters are full of fuel.

  1. Push the plunger inward. Turn the plunger clockwise in order to lock the plunger.

  1. Start the engine and crank the engine. Prime the fuel system further if any of the following conditions occur:

    • The engine does not start.

    • The engine misfires.

    • The engine emits smoke.

  1. If the engine starts but the engine runs rough, continue to run the engine at low idle. Run the engine at low idle until the engine runs properly.

  1. Check the fuel system for leaks. Stop the engine.

  1. If the engine does not start after repeated pumping, perform Step 8 through Step 10.

  1. Loosen the fuel injection line nuts at the cylinder head one at a time. This will remove air bubbles from the fuel lines. Crank the engine at low idle until all of the air bubbles are out of the fuel lines.

  1. Tighten the fuel injection line nuts.

  1. Check the fuel system for leaks and clean up any spilled fuel. Stop the engine.
