Personal injury or death may result from failure to adhere to the following procedures.
Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.
Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.

Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.

NOTICE

Do not fill fuel filters with fuel before installing them. Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system parts.

Fuel shutoff valve (1) is located on the left hand enclosure across from the ladder that leads to the cab. Close the fuel line by rotating handle (1) on the fuel shutoff valve until the valve handle makes a 90 degree angle with the fuel line.

Primary fuel filter (3) is mounted on the right rear corner of the engine. Loosen retaining bolt (2) for the filter housing case .

Remove filter housing case (3) and remove the filter from the case.

Wash the filter and wash case (3) in a clean, nonflammable solvent.

Use pressure air in order to dry the filter and the case. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "General Hazard Information" for more information on using pressure air.
