Do not fill fuel filters with fuel before installing them. Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel system parts. |
- Fuel shutoff valve (1) is located on the left hand enclosure across from the ladder that leads to the cab. Close the fuel line by rotating handle (1) on the fuel shutoff valve until the valve handle makes a 90 degree angle with the fuel line.

- Primary fuel filter (3) is mounted on the right rear corner of the engine. Loosen retaining bolt (2) for the filter housing case .

- Remove filter housing case (3) and remove the filter from the case.
- Wash the filter and wash case (3) in a clean, nonflammable solvent.
- Use pressure air in order to dry the filter and the case. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "General Hazard Information" for more information on using pressure air.
- Clean the filter housing base.
- Inspect the filter seals. Replace the filter if the seals are damaged.
- Insert the clean filter into the case.
- Install the case into the filter housing base.
- Tighten retaining bolt (2) .
- Open fuel shutoff valve (1). The fuel line is open while the valve handle is pointed upward or while the valve handle is pointed downward.
